About FPMPAM

Founded in 1989, the Federation of Private Medical Practitioners? Associations Malaysia (FPMPAM) is the national medical body that supports doctors in private practice to provide high quality health care through continuing medical education, ethics advocacy and public outreach programs.

In support of this, the Federation organizes various continuing medical education courses and workshops for specialists, general practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.

In 2000, FPMPAM launched the ?Ask Your Doctor? program with the aim of encouraging dialogue between the public and the medical community about common health problems.

In 2004, FPMPAM organized the 1st National Conference on Addiction Medicine which saw the gathering of medical doctors, policy makers and social workers converge to review the current treatment model and new approaches in combating drug addiction from a medical perspective.

In addition, FPMPAM is actively provides input for policy at national level with the Ministry of Health. It also liaises with other medical bodies in the country concerning health issues and public welfare. It also organizes regular charity events as part of its community service program.

FPMPAM consists of seven state-level associations, which are Private Medical Practitioners Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Penang Medical Practitioners? Society, Perak Medical Practitioners? Society, Private Medical Practitioners of Johor, Private Medical Practitioners? Society Kedah/Perlis, Private Medical Practitioners Association, Pahang and Sarawak Private Medical Practitioners Association with a total membership of more than 4000 doctors.
